Stripe requirements
This page lists all the required components for each student to advance from white to yellow belt. To be ready for promotion, the student must have acquired each of the stripes relating to their next belt. All requirements will be taught as part of the curriculum, but for information about unfamiliar techniques that are required for a stripe, please ask an instructor.

Students will be expected to perform 10 good push-ups and 20 good sit-ups. There are many types of push-ups and sit-ups to choose from, so students should try a variety. They will be expected to hold a low 'sitting' stance for one minute and balance on each leg in both a chambered snap kick position and 'flamingo' position for 10 seconds each. They will be expected to demonstrate their flexibility in a seated straddle position, pike position, and butterfly position, and make and attempt to perform splits. Expectations increase once they achieve their yellow belt. |
